Dear Higley Traditional Academy Students, Families and Community Members

I am humbled and excited to introduce myself as one of the newest HTA Hawks. I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of a school and district with such hard-working students, talented staff, and supportive communities.

This year marks my 30th year in education. I have been an elementary teacher, a district level curriculum coordinator, facilitated math and science programs with middle school students, developed national and statewide curriculum and professional development programs for educators, and managed the educational outreach initiatives of Eight, Arizona PBS. Through all those years however, it is helping students achieve their personal best that I find the most rewarding. I firmly believe the partnership between school and family is what helps students build the confidence and resilience needed to achieve what they dream.

I am a native of Phoenix, Arizona, but I have lived in several different places including Texas and California. My husband and I have two daughters in college, one at ASU and one at the University of Central Missouri, and a silly goldendoodle that keeps us laughing. When our girls are home, we enjoy time together playing games, watching football, trying new recipes on our smoker, and traveling to the mountains.

As an educator, I believe we enable students to become their most successful self through high expectations, intentional collaboration, and positive relationships.  I look forward to continuing to build those relationships in the HTA community and our conversations and celebrations during this school year.

My Best,

Mrs. Mandy Bachali
